ATC Double Dutch?
I've started playing FSX after a break of a few years and I'm getting a strange problem.
All ATC commands are read out twice, but simultaneously.
Any response I make is also duplicated.
It sounds like trying to hear the train announcements at Waterloo.
Very annoying?
Anyone come across this and knows of a fix?

Re: ATC Double Dutch?
Very simple fix, don't use the FSX ATC, it is absolute garbage.
Old pilots never die, they just run out of runway.

I had a look for a solution yesterday but the only thing I could find that was vaguely close was to do with VOX atc.. whatever that is

You might have both boxes tuned to the same freq and "Both" selected somewhere!

V.O.X. = voice operated mic switch for hands-free operation. As opposed to P.T.T.

Yeah.. I know what VOX is. You mean they talk to the ATC (pc) via a mic rather than hit 1. 2. 3. 4 e t c on the ATC screen. Forgot people might still do that. I did it in FS2000 and haven't done it since

You should feel better mate. If you don't have it on, you can't hear the screams!!

I used to use Radar Contact which was better than default but a bit fiddly. Unfortunately lost the program somewhere along the line and I blv development stopped due to to illness in the development team. Shame.

Re: ATC Double Dutch?
Yes.. I remember seeing Radar Contact and considered it for a wee while. It DID look complicated! Can't remember what the program I had was called. It was 'Something' 2000 and I loved it. When flying around the UK, you heard English ATC voices. Fly across the channel and after the handoff, you'd be greeted by French accented ATC e t c. You could use voice command software with it too which I did. This was a bit hit and miss but it did work. I think it failed to work with FS2002 and died the death though it was reborn some years later. Never did try that version. I just keep it turned off now
