Re: P3Dv?
I saw that announced, quite interesting. I had thought with the release of MSFS that P3D would be dead, but to repeat an over used line "I'm not quite dead yet!".
Lockheed's real money behind this are commercial and military simulators and those big contracts require compatibility with the old software. I have seen several ppl say on line that if you want nice eye candy, uses MSFS. You want an accurate flight model use P3D.
At least they are finally dropping the 'academic' license presence and going to sell 'personal' licenses. I for one am going to buy it, as long as the pricing does not change too much. I buy X-Plane each time they release also, never use it except for occasional testing but like to support the cause, at least with P3D I can still use all the old aircraft in it.

Re: P3Dv?
There are some aircraft I really miss in MSFS, and don’t look like they will be coming for some time. Does anyone know how far backwards compatibility will go with P3D6?
Ben.

Licensing news:
https://www.prepar3d.com/news/announcem ... 06/121250/
It is backwards compatable from v4.
So now we have: MSFS 2020, MSFS 2024, Pplane12 and P3dv6.

Re: P3Dv?
Thats great news, especially since they are dropping the 'academic' pretext. Since the personal license is the same price as the old academic license it will be a day one purchase for me.

I will go for it as well. Given up on MSFS as too many glitches and seems to affect other programmes on my PC which after I got rid of it they disappeared
