A few little things I do to keep my home PC running sweetly. As I work in an IT department, time and money allowing, these tips usually get used there to. I always aim to keep at least 20% free space on all drives. Use a 3rd party defrag utility (I use Diskeeper 2007) and schedule it for at least a ...

Thanks all... Plenty for me to chew on there !!! I'm not desperate for an upgrade yet, just thinking about it because if I'm honest the 6800 card I got is still pretty descent and does everything I need it to do. Think I may sit tight for another few months yet and see what happens price wise. Entry...

Sounds like something iffy with your graphics drivers....

Usual thing is to get latest graphics & motherboard drivers and then re-install latest DirectX 9.0c.

Run FS9 on Nvidia 6800 AGP and Nforce 2 board without any troubles but only running 2 x AA.

Never experienced Mesh myself but had good experiences with Evesham.

Work in an IT department and all we use is Dell desktops, laptops & servers and found their support to be top-notch for business. So-say Dell's support for home users isn't the best but I can't confirm that.

Graphics card upgrade ???

Bit of a question for you guys..... Currently running an Asus 9999 Geforce 6800 256Mb AGP graphics card in a 3.00Ghz Athon XP system (Nforce2 chipset) with 1Gb RAM running Win XP sp2. Had this graphics card for about a 1-1.5 years now and was wondering if it's worth upgrading it ???? I do play a few...

If your buying new kit then a dual-core CPU is a good minimum because a lot of future software including Vista and games will be using the 2nd CPU. Another thing to think about is on the graphics card front. In the next month or two Nvidia and ATI (AMD) will be releasing DirectX-10 cards, which agai...

Got an Asus Gefore 6800 256Mb AGP card in my 3.0GHz Athlon, 1Gb RAM, 3 year old PC and that runs FS9 pretty good. I work in an IT department and was looking for an AGP graphics card for a mate the other day. Typically a Geforce 7600GT 256Mb AGP card would set you back about £100ish. and is pretty m...

Big fan of the mighty hunter and about time we had one of those !!!!! Had a 5 hour flight years ago when I was at ATC on XV249 from St Mawgen. This Nimrod was later converted to R1 spec after one of the original R1's crashed up Scotland. Just a comment... Something not quite right with the rudder. T...
