Re: UKMIL Lightning

Personally I model in 3ds, using the textures fashioned in Photoshop .psd - then simply convert them to .dds via the imagetool thingy :o when happy with them, and drop that into the FSX texture folder.

Just a quick update we've hit some minor technicalities with this model and a decision has been ...

Re: UKMIL Lightning

Think nose-cone is just deceptive on certain angles as it's (or appears to be?) untextured at the moment. Does look a tad wide or short in length in a couple of piccys - but fine in others! - reckon could be fine when textured! :flying:
But looking very good - Any VC piccys yet!? :dancer:

Re: LPG open day - Bruntingthorpe

Was there myself. That stunning final picture of yours, is the one I kept trying to get - but sadly only succeeded in capturing bits of other people's heads! :-(

Did managed to corner a couple of the Pilots - Dennis Brooks & Andy Williams, who were extremely friendly and very helpful and kindly ...

Re: VC - Seat View Swap

Hi Rick

Many thanks as ever for the reply. Seems odd that something so obvious is not included within the SDK doesn't it?

I have had some success by using mulitples of the (>K:EYEPOINT_LEFT) & the (>K:EYEPOINT_RIGHT) Event IDs - but aint quite what I was after. :'(

Whilst this does work, to a ...

VC - Seat View Swap

Hi all,

A quick question, what I'm after is a simple toggle button (modeled and working) - but I want the toggles to swap between, Pilot (Left Seat) & Instructor (Right Seat):

View (for Pilot) eyepoint=8.50, 2.00, 1.75

Re: Hawker Sea Hawk W.I.P

Hi there,

Unsure which program you are using to model with (assume 3ds as per prior posting?) If so, might help to smooth mesh out by selecting Polygons in the Modifer List (editable mesh) and dropping to the sub section: Smoothing Groups - Select all the polys (CTRL+A) and then click the 'Clear ...

Re: EE Lightning T.5 (fingers crossed!) for 2008....

Hi there - without wanting to boost another forum (when this one is here! :goodman:) but the FreeFlightDesign one mentioned above does have a 'Working XML' code section. You can also look at the default modeldef.xml to try and reverse engineer what you require. Unfortunately what you require and ...

Re: EE Lightning T.5 (fingers crossed!) for 2008....

Rick,

Can get movement changing to work on a position unit (like a TURN COORDINATOR BALL): As a basic:

<PartInfo>
<Name>needle_brake_pressure</Name>
<AnimLength>100</AnimLength>
<Animation>
<Parameter>
<Code>
(A:BRAKE LEFT POSITION, position) 1 + 50 *
</Code>
<Lag>100</Lag ...

In the finest tradition of British understatement:

"WOW" :fart: <- shame these smiles, don't have one where his jaw just drops through the floor and keeps on going!

Mighty impressed
