Re: [rant] Captain Sim - why do I do this to myself?

They remove all such posts, not because there is no one else with the problem, but becasue they can't be bothered to fix it. I got hooked by CS once, never again. You should not have bought from them. Lesson learned. I have long since removed the 130 from my hard drive along with their pathetic 707...

Re: [rant] Captain Sim - why do I do this to myself?

Thanks for the replies. I'm a wee bit worried about the performance comment in your post Trev; it's one of the reasons i stayed away from CS products, after the whole 757 saga - performance just seems to be a real issue for CS. Actually, it's a real issue for their customers, CS themselves don't see...

[rant] Captain Sim - why do I do this to myself?

Oh God, after the 757 debacle I swore I'd never do it again, but the lure of the C130 Pro version for 19euro was too much to resist and i purchased a Captain Sim product. Download went fine, no probs. Then I tried to register. Got the famous code # 11 error. No worries, download their 'alternative s...

Re: Norton anti-virus - switching it off

Hi Ben, I've got the real time scanning switched off for my fs9 dirs already, so i guess that's covered. Aside from FS9, the various Norton programs take up the largest slices of ram, though CPU activity is 0%. I'd have thought though that switching off the AV but leaving the firewall on is safe, on...

Norton anti-virus - switching it off

Hi, long time no see! I got a scare when I tried to connect to the site using my old bookmarks only to find the page gone! A question about Norton AV. I see a lot of posts around the various FS9 forums saying that you shouldn't have Norton AV (or indeed any AV, but particularly Norton) running when ...

Looks nice, but not at that size. I would only ever fly to Amsterdam anyway so it's not worth it. The trouble is that Holland is just so damn flat. It makes for great panzer country but for flying its just so, well, utterly devoid of features. Just lots and lots of flat textures ... I got GEPRo the...

FS2004 & Dual Core

I've read that, with some adjustments, FS2004 can be run on dual core machines in such a way that FS2004 will use 1 CPU exclusively for it's running, and the other for things like Activesky etc. As part of my 'war on framerates', i'm planning the final upgrade of my PC - the dual core (there are oth...

I bought TrackIR a week or two ago and have found it great - when it works. Quite often and always mid-flight, TrackIr shuts down because it's done some kind of illegal operation. It shuts down, but when i start it up again its no longer recognised by FS9 so the rest of the flight continues without ...

Well, i'm after buying a Antec TruePower Trio 650Watt unit, hopefully that'll work a bit better than the 'Sweetex' (i think it was called) unit that i had. What worries me though is that i discover that my machine is fried when i plug the new psu in. I guess I'll find out tomorrow when the new unit ...
