No, I took the whole unit out, switched on the 'on - off' button, then plugged it into the wall (to avoid touching the case). Sure enough, pop went the unit, out went the lights. Much Basil Fawlty-esque ranting ensued.

Hi atb, thanks for that info! I'm pretty sure it's the PSU. I took it out of the machine then plugged it into the wall. Sure enough, it went 'pop' and all the lights went out. When i tried my old 300w powersupply, it switched on just grand. Even tried different leads (in case it was that) but no, it...

Aaarrgghhh, just my bloody luck. I finally get the machine configured, setup and tweaked just right, a nice 30fps on the dornier do-27 with the VFR Photographic scenery from justflight. I'm about to settle down for a nice relaxing flight when my wife plugs in the hoover upstairs and ... !!!POP!!! go...

Tweakers Anonymous

So there I was last night at 1am. The lights are off, my wife went to bed 4 hours ago. The house is quiet, apart from the hum of the computer and the sound of the keyboard. I've got my Dornier Do-27 on the tarmac at Juneau Airport (PAJN). The door is open, the engines are off. In the top corner, the...

Last update then: I've managed to get a reasonable performance now from my machine. I can get a steady 35fps on average with complex scenery and a/c like the carenado and the default FS9 a/c. Something like the Digital Aviations excellent Do-27 hits a little harder (about 25fps depending on outside ...
