Re: Microsoft Launch new FSX version

Okay, let's clear up some misconceptions here - 1) ESP developed in parallel with FSX using the same basic core programming. It is not older, nor newer, than FSX. The code which Lockheed Martin purchased in 2010 is equivalent to FSX SP2. 2) Microsoft and Lockheed Martin have a development agreement ...

Re: Somebody upset REX Game Studios?

I think they're simply trying to simplify their distribution requirements. As has been noted, some forms of payment systems have been less than reliable at paying out lately and this has caused problems for developers getting paid by the distributors. If REX has decided they want to deal with only o...

Re: SpaceX to Launch Falcon Heavy Rocket 'Live'

Not sure if you're aware, but that channel you linked isn't exactly "live". They rip off other YouTube videos and then replay them using the YouTube "Live Now" as an exploit of sorts. There's been a push to get these kinds of channels removed because they are essentially stealing views from other ch...

Dale, when you get those updates done, will you share them? I'm on P3D v4 100% now and especially with Rui's new textures, I'm getting a serious need to fly the 748 again. :)

Excellent work Rui! I think I need to get the 748 back in my flying routine somehow. :)

Re: BRITISH AIRWAYS TO PAINT AIRCRAFT WITH MUCH-LOVED DESIGN FROM AIRLINE'S HISTORY

I don't think it's so nefarious. Heritage liveries have been a thing in the US with both Airlines and Railroads for quite some time. I think the trend is just continuing to spread worldwide. If you want to be cynical about it, consider that the real motivating factor for doing it is to ensure that t...

Re: Decision height ? Sea level!

I'm guessing some form of carrier ILS at work? I'm not sure what system the French use, but the US has a Precision Landing System that uses a combination of radar and Microwave Landing System to provide extremely high precision guidance. They are also rolling out "Magic Carpet" which will help the ...

Re: Decision height ? Sea level!

I think part of what makes it look off is that the camera isn't focused properly. I've noticed that on a couple of HUD videos in low visibility. It seems some of the cameras actually have an autofocus and it doesn't work well in poor visibility and low light.

Re: Are Payware Aircraft Becoming too Expensive?

$100+ for a full study-level sim has been the norm for years unfortunately. However, the vast majority of payware aircraft are still being released sub-$60 and many sub-$40. However, the Navigraph survey, for all its issues, did have a lot of consensus that people don't spend much on a per-year basi...

Re: Say "Aaaaah!"

Wow, sorry to hear of your wife's spill. Hope she has a quick recovery and she's able to get the pain managed effectively. I know it can be tricky to get it right. The women in my family are particularly resistant to painkillers, so they've always had trouble getting effective pain management when t...
