Re: SPACE X Manned Launch Demo-2 - May 27th 1622 hrs EST.

According to www.flightclub.io , it looks like the UK will have a pretty good chance at seeing the launch on Saturday. Looks like the path goes almost directly over Exeter. The weather Saturday looks to be a non-factor, so hope for no technical issues and don't forget to breath during the launch. :)

Re: You know when....

Actually, the US isn't the "odd man out" in this. 120V/60Hz is standard for all of North and Central America, and Japan also runs on 120V/60Hz. Also, while much of Europe runs on 240/50, the standard for aviation AC power is 120V/60Hz, so why that hasn't been more of a push for the rest of the world...

Re: Another World virus?

Yes some of the conspiracy theorists must have been having orgasms over this. Apparently over the pond a lot of people have stopped drinking Corona Beer. No doubt a lot of things have happened this side that have not made it to the media yet. And this was evidence of another virus - FakeNewsitis. C...

Re: Blown away

The ability to auto generate a 3D building has taken leaps and bounds in the last few years because the amount of available imagery and radar data has blossomed massively. If you look at any major metropolitan area in Google Maps, you'll find that almost all (if not all) of the buildings, especially...

Re: Just Cruising Along.

PS. Don't mention Specific Gravity ..... another layer of complexity ... Short Haul always used 0.8 ..... Long Haul used the actual S.G. on the day ...so some days you needed more and some less in L. to get fuel wt . Oh don't get me started on Specific Gravity. Beyond having to do the test on incom...

Re: Just Cruising Along.

P.S. Some where back in the mists of time , a brain cell is telling me that full wings on 732,733,734 [ basically same wing , 3 'n 4s had improved aeros , but same inside structure ] is 8600 Kgs ...... ties in approx with the other post of 8600 lbs a side rgds dave f. Yeah, it's ~4700 kg/wing for t...

Re: Just Cruising Along.

Looks interesting. First addon I've seen since the old 747 from FS9 that has an actual fuel panel for fueling. There's several that have "Fueling Panels", but not an actual image of the fuel panel with the associated switchology. FYI, on the 737 (and pretty much any twinjet) fill the wings to full f...

Re: Qantas 737s in a pickle

I may have misunderstood what Juan Brown and Mentour Pilot were describing then. Both seemed to indictate it was the pickle forks on the front spar that are the problem. The FAA's AD just says that the pickle forks (plural) must be inspected, but doesn't discriminate front or rear. Personally, I'm m...

Re: Qantas 737s in a pickle

Chris? Are you still pumping gas? Among my other line service tasks, yep. Got to spend last weekend doing AvGas fueling for the Sheppard AFB Airshow (we have it every other year) so that was fun, especially having Randy Ball and his MiG-17 fly past the Hot Ramp at somewhere in excess of Mach 0.90 a...
