Re: Qantas 737s in a pickle

I may have misunderstood what Juan Brown and Mentour Pilot were describing then. Both seemed to indictate it was the pickle forks on the front spar that are the problem. The FAA's AD just says that the pickle forks (plural) must be inspected, but doesn't discriminate front or rear. Personally, I'm m...

Re: Qantas 737s in a pickle

Chris? Are you still pumping gas? Among my other line service tasks, yep. Got to spend last weekend doing AvGas fueling for the Sheppard AFB Airshow (we have it every other year) so that was fun, especially having Randy Ball and his MiG-17 fly past the Hot Ramp at somewhere in excess of Mach 0.90 a...

Re: Qantas 737s in a pickle

Interesting that this is just making news in Australia. The Pickle Fork issue has been known and an AD was issued by the FAA 3 weeks ago, which AFAIK was copied by the other regulators. QANTAS should have already completed their first round of inspections by now. https://www.federalregister.gov/docu...

Re: Oh Boy, This Will Blow Your Mind!!

As for me? I don't really want to be paying out maybe £10 a month subscription which, over the years will be a hell of a lot more money than I have already paid to get airborne so if the price is around that figure over say 4 years, not including any increases that will be £480. Maybe I am 'tight o...

Re: Microsoft Launch new FSX version

Okay, let's clear up some misconceptions here - 1) ESP developed in parallel with FSX using the same basic core programming. It is not older, nor newer, than FSX. The code which Lockheed Martin purchased in 2010 is equivalent to FSX SP2. 2) Microsoft and Lockheed Martin have a development agreement ...

Re: Somebody upset REX Game Studios?

I think they're simply trying to simplify their distribution requirements. As has been noted, some forms of payment systems have been less than reliable at paying out lately and this has caused problems for developers getting paid by the distributors. If REX has decided they want to deal with only o...

Re: SpaceX to Launch Falcon Heavy Rocket 'Live'

Not sure if you're aware, but that channel you linked isn't exactly "live". They rip off other YouTube videos and then replay them using the YouTube "Live Now" as an exploit of sorts. There's been a push to get these kinds of channels removed because they are essentially stealing views from other ch...

Dale, when you get those updates done, will you share them? I'm on P3D v4 100% now and especially with Rui's new textures, I'm getting a serious need to fly the 748 again. :)

Excellent work Rui! I think I need to get the 748 back in my flying routine somehow. :)

Re: BRITISH AIRWAYS TO PAINT AIRCRAFT WITH MUCH-LOVED DESIGN FROM AIRLINE'S HISTORY

I don't think it's so nefarious. Heritage liveries have been a thing in the US with both Airlines and Railroads for quite some time. I think the trend is just continuing to spread worldwide. If you want to be cynical about it, consider that the real motivating factor for doing it is to ensure that t...
