Re: Guy Martin with the Vulcan.

I have to say it was a very enjoyable programme, with superb air-to-air photography, archive footage and plenty of interviews with former crew. It struck quite a good balance between entertainment and information, and was certainly a lot better than I expected. It was much more watchable than the re...

Re: Concorde to fly again?

There has been a press release from the Le Bourget museum stating that their Concorde is definitively NOT for sale, they consider it just as much a piece of French history as the Mona Lisa. I don't see that leaving the country either. Actually, the part where they plan to have a Concorde on display...

It's a repeat and has been on a number of times already over the last year or so. I'm sure it will be back!

Re: BAC 1-11 G-ASJJ ...The Movie Star

It could in theory be Boeing Boeing as at least some of the movie was shot in France in 1964-65 and it's certainly possible as G-ASJJ was delivered to British United in April '65.

Re: Sir Richard Attenborough RIP

I had the pleasure and honour of working with Richard on his final film, Closing the Ring, back in 2006. No airs or graces, kind, patient and appreciative of the work everyone was doing. His final word would always be "Thank you, darling" to every member of his crew, male or female. Some d...

Re: Newcastle Festival of Flight 2014

You must have been a lot nearer the Slieve Donard Hotel than me, Brendan. Mind you, I was right down at the far end of the promenade! It was nice to see the Gnats as well as the Red Arrows, sort the older and younger generations. I thought it was a nice touch that the Canberra came back in with the...

Newcastle Festival of Flight 2014

Hi all The annual Festival took place in County Down last weekend on a beautiful summer's day. The many highlights included the BBMF Lancaster, Midair Squadron's Hunter and Canberra and of course the Vulcan. You can see my photos here, with plenty more available from other Flickr members. https://fl...
