Re: RAF Goxhill

Alan - that's because there are no Traffic cones left in the country - they're all on the road near Cumbernauld
I had plenty of time to examine them recently. :-(

Re: new Auster at the pond

Great video clip Peter :dancer:
I confess, it brings a big happy smile to my face (not a pretty sight) watching the Auster being flown. Thinks - and I wondered if there's be much interest in the aircraft on floats - glad I listened to Leif ;-)

Re: Broadford almost complete

Looked at that journey over Rannock moor, Ft William etc and on to Malaig. some time ago but the return train time didn't fit our schedule - pity :-( .Still, seen Rannock moor and Glen Coe on foot, so some sort of consolation.

Re: Broadford almost complete

Back from our hols in Scotland and been sorting through the pix. Here's what Ashaig looked like 2 weeks ago - http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g127/molyned/Ashaig-02.jpg Seems they've removed a couple of structures since the shots that Leif & I worked from and have parked some components for a ...

Re: Broadford almost complete

Thanks Paul :welldone: That 'heads-up' has come just in time cos we're off up to that west coast in the next few days. The update has allowed me to suss out where our cottage is -couldn't make anything out on the earlier view. And yes, Broadford is greatly improved as well. I'm pleased (and relieved...

Re: new Auster at the pond

Yes, I was thinking of incorporating the orange panels into the T7 trainer which had them, but thought better of it - always having the safety and sanity of users in mind. :)

Re: new Auster at the pond

Sorry Peter Although I had expected Austers to have a pitot heater by default (being British), I found no sign of one on any of them - then it occured to me - they had very little/none in the way of electrical power, so that switch hasn't been fitted to my builds. I try and copy the original panels ...

Re: The usual translucency question

Paul -The 99% transparency trick for curing the props texture see-through problem is one which 'everybody' seems to know about and therefore few think worth mentioning.
Took me ages to discover any reference to this simple cure

Re: new Auster at the pond

Hi - They fitted the bolt-on fin under the rear fuselage to balance the effect of the large floats. There is no sign of that fin on photos I've got of the aircraft on skis - it would not be needed and anyway would be in the way of the rear undercarriage/ski leaf spring . I assume it came in the floa...
