Re: A Spitfire from the days of days
Thanks! Yes, many hundreds of previously unpublished pictures have surfaced in the Spitfire Saga volumes (Not the British book with the same name). It is highly recommended to the British readers as well if you are interested in the Norwegian connection to the Spitfire story and the RAF. The Book ha...

A Spitfire from the days of days
The Spitfire has a special place in my heart (as it probably has in the hearts of many aviation enthusiasts). For me the Spitfire Mk.IX “is” the Spitfire shape with, in my eyes, a perfect relationship between the original shape and the longer two stage Merlin engine. The IX was supposed to just be a...

Re: Virtavia Avro Lincoln released
For those of you who wants to test the new Lincoln texture pack, a beta release is available in the SoH thread. I'm making KM-C of No 44 (Rhodesia) sqn right now in the white/black "Tiger Force" scheme it had in 45-46. Do any of you have any information about which colour the stencils woul...

Re: Virtavia Avro Lincoln released
I think Virtavia has done a superb job with bringing the forgotten Lincoln into the FS world! Which other FS developer would have made this aircraft? Probably none. I my view the Lincoln looks much better proportioned than the "short and stubby" Lancaster. Even if I have to agree the bomb ...

Chubby but sexy.. Gannet AEW.3
Robert Richardson takes on some of the more forgotten aircraft types and has build up a rather impressive lineup of FS models, many which are firm favorites of me in FSX. The Fairey Gannet AEW 3, for many a rather ugly looking creature, I kind of like it. Certainly a very purpose build aircraft, ser...

Re: The Vulcan in FSX
The gauges on that aircraft are second to none (I help look after a real vulcan XJ823 at carlisle) and I think the texture problems are down to FSX limitations, (they always look catoonie in FSX for some reason) Ill dig out my JF/PSS Vulc for comparison. That will really not be fair for such an old...

Re: The Vulcan in FSX
I can agree on the Victor, that model and textures are probably 3 years now. But for the IRIS Vulcan I find the textures to be quite advanced regarding shading and effects. Screenshots never make a good reproduction of either the textures or model shading of todays advanced 3d models in FSX. No big ...
