Re: Argonaut Virtual Cockpit.
Are you using FS9 or FSX? If it's the latter then you're stuck, since FSX uses the VC to provide interior views with the 2D panel.

Re: Hows about this for a crosswind landing...?
My understanding is the steerable U/C was done to alleviate stress on the airframe/wing due to the inline gear configuration. It also allows the aircraft to operate in higher crosswind conditions than would otherwise be safe.

Re: Non-British aircraft
Well now, this is an interesting possibility, indeed. Especially considering that the L-049 Connie is my all-time favorite propliner and I probably have more FS hours in HJG's 707s than any other two aircraft combined. :yipeee:

Re: bac 1-11 in fsx
IIRC some of the textures for the VC in the 1-11 are stored in the root FS "Texture" folder. When I installed the 1-11 to FSX I first installed to a temp directory, then copied all necessary textures to the individual livery folders. It took a bit of work but the 1-11 now displays with ful...

Re: I'm still alive, I swear!
Wouldn't you know it, I'm all set to return to flying and...I tear a muscle in my flipping leg! So here I am, sitting up in bed to keep my leg elevated, unable to walk without crutches and unable to sit at my main computer again. :doho: :brick: Ah, well, at least there's the Vicodin to make the pain...

Re: How Many....
Both FS9 and FSX are installed on my gaming rig. For a long time I was using FSX pretty much exclusively, but find myself using FS9 more since the aircraft I prefer to fly perform better in the older sim.

I'm still alive, I swear!
Hey folks, sorry if I seemed to have dropped off the map the last month or so. I've been feeling a bit less than 100% since summer-type weather started showing up. It's been particularly bad on my back, which means my ability to sit at my computer. I'm still sitting here, but more often than not fin...

Re: POSKY B747F / FSX Problem
FS9 used black for full alpha, but FSX uses either white or a VERY light grey for the same effect. It's a pain when you have to redo the alpha channel for every single texture on a model to get it to display properly in FSX.

Re: massive engined Pulling tractor.
Err...did I type rotary? Should have been radial, of course - what I get for typing when I'm dog tired.
Oopsie!

Re: massive engined Pulling tractor.
I read up a bit on that engine. It's a 42 cylinder diesel rotary that was used in certain classes of patrol boats. The original version (before being modified by the tractor pull folks) was a real beast and ugly as sin. Must have been interesting to work on at sea, that's for sure.
