as a basic calculation i use:

Route Distance
_______________ = 'X'

Aircraft Max Range

and then

X
__________________ = Required Fuel

Aircraft Maximum Fuel


Obviously this is ery basic, so i add quite a bit more afterwards (generally in excess of 10000lbs) for holding/taxi/reserve.

FSDSv2 wasnt as usefull as Gmax for scenery creation, but now FSDSv3 has the ability to compile .MDL scenery projects too, but that said, it's not as powerfull as Gmax - Hence the user friendlyness of FSDS. cheers folks. as i have (unsucsessfully) tried GMAX, i will look into FSDS3. I wasnt sure if it was capable of createing scenery.

The links all look very useful. Looks like this will be my summer holidays project! :lol:
