Re: WHY?

Unfortunately, there has been an increase in knife crime in the UK over the past few years. This has tended to be in the poorer parts of London and other big cities, or gang related. I believe that UK law says that a knife carried in public can only be a manually folding knife (i.e. not a 'flick' kn...

Re: WHY?

I think there is quite a different mindset between a lot of people in the US (not all) and those of other western nations. Here in the UK, if I go out (say shopping in the city), it never crosses my mind that there maybe someone carrying a loaded weapon. The chance would be miniscule and as such, no...

Re: WHY?

I could not agree more with the sentiments expressed here . I would only add one thing : earlier there was reference to the UK now having little gun crime , but sadly that has now been replaced by a horrific increase in the use of knives, often lethally. We need to put a stop to that as well I tota...

Re: WHY?

Sadly, the death toll has now risen to 21. 19 primary school children and 2 adults. Why, oh why, oh why?

Re: WHY?

Wise words, Nigel. There is absolutely no need for the general public to carry guns. I saw a while back, after a shooting at another school, the idea put forward that Teachers should be armed. That is not the answer. Dis-arming the public is the answer. My thoughts and prayers are with the devastate...

Re: WHY?

Another atrocity today! This time, 14 young school children and their Teacher. :( :( :( :( :( If this doesn't get people questioning the gun laws in the US, will anything? There was a mass shooting at a school in the UK (the Dunblane massacre, 1996), after which much stricter gun laws were introduce...

Re: Ukraine

I have seen some reports, that Putin is very ill with cancer. I'm not sure if this is true, but if it is, it could be very dangerous as he may want to take some sort of decisive action by which to be remembered.

Re: Another one bites the dust...

From the crease in the fuselage and the rippling of the skin to the rear of that, it looks like it 'broke it' back'. Unlikely to be repaired on a new aircraft, let alone an ageing B737-400. It must have been one hell of a hard landing.

Re: CBFS SPOTTER

Too many variants, and sub-variants, of that aircraft to guess what the tail picture was. At least for me, anyway. The parts that identified it as an E6 Hermes for me, was the unusual probe/feature at the very rear of the fuselage (almost looks like a hose and drogue type refuelling system) and the...
