Re: Cold and wet in York

What a collection  Yes it is and I think they've added more in the 14 years since those photos were taken. The Halifax is a real mishmash with the main part of the fuselage from a Halifax II and the wings from a Hastings but it's been really well done and serves as a fitting memorial to t...

You've given me a target to be able to visit YAM later on this year as I'm having a pretty bleak time at the moment.
Well, if you're anything like me, Alan, spending a few hours wandering around old aeroplanes will cheer you up no end. Hope things pick up for you soon.

Re: Cold and wet in York

Any others more than welcome as far as I'm concerned :agree: Not wanting to hijack CLF's thread in case he had some more, Mike, I've waited before putting up some I took on a much sunnier visit to YAM in 2010. It was during a short mid-week break in York and the previous day had been spent in an eq...

Yes, I was logged out when I opened the forum this morning but, fortunately, had no problem logging back in.

Absolutely nothing to apologise for, Mike. When I said, "well done", I meant it.

Re: Gooseberry and cinnamon yoghurt anyone?

Strewth! I must be feeling even grumpier than usual today - I didn't find that even vaguely amusing. It didn't even raise a smile and certainly not a laugh. :dunno:

I'm getting old!

Re: How To Get 737-200 From England To New Zealand??

Which does raise the interesting question of how they got an aeroplane with around 3000 statute miles (2.6K NM) max range there and back. I guess there are different rules for ferry flights without passengers but, presumably, they'd still want decent reserves for possible diversions etc.

Looks like G-BHWF was leased to ANZ between mid-January and the end of April 1988, Dale, keeping its UK registration and then returning to Britannia until 1993 when it was sold along with G-BHWE (not WB) and G-BJTC to ANZ.

I’m hoping Pete might spot this and shed some light.
Sorry, Ben, to be honest, I can't make head nor tail of what's happening from your screen shots. I thought the terminal holding fix for EGNT was ESTES but none of them seem to be holding there. Sorry I can't be of any help with this.
