Hi Dave,
That chart sounds like a good starting point. I've got to do the return leg at some point so I'll drop a bit lower and see how it goes.

Re: Flight tutorials - Vanguard and/or Viscount
The flight plan distance was just under 1400km. I'm not sure of what sensible cruise heights for the turboprops would be, so any guidance would be most appreciated. :) The info I have says max altitude of 30,000 but not much about weights that would allow that. It's another thing on my list for my v...

Re: Flight tutorials - Vanguard and/or Viscount
Well, I made it. I sucessfully took the Vanguard from EGLL to LEPA, and a very smooth (-34 fps) landing too, if I say so myself :) I could not get the speed above 185 kts at FL270 - does that sound about right? I need to practice a bit more with the autopilot and the SFS, not what you'd call intuiti...

Re: What do I need for carrier ops?
I got the Gold Edition of FSX, which includes the Accel pack. had a play with the FA-18 and carrier landings, and gave up :-( Would like to have anohter go with a Sea Vixen or similar - used to see lots of them when my Dad was in the Navy and we lived in Rowner. Lovely aeroplane.

That was fantastic, thank you for linking that in. The sound of those Tynes was music to my ears. Do you do those often? I would love to be there for one.

That sounds more like it. OK, I'll just have to learn to put up with the shortcomings of Flightsim I guess. Thanks for the info.

Re: Flight tutorials - Vanguard and/or Viscount
OK, I started FS9 and loaded a flight with the default King Air 350. Switched on the battery master and avionics then switched to the Vanguard (G-APEH). Switched the external power on, Start Fuel switches to Start, MIs are now showing correctly. Closed the HP Cocks, Anti Collision lights on, doors a...
