The Dodosim visual model is adequate, but the thing that sets it apart from all others is the flight handling, it makes everything else deficient. Well I managed to get a gun working, so that's good, it will knock out AI objects. Regarding combat sims, yes for a full warfare situation, defintely better off, but if you just want to play around with some military systems in a much better (depending on your install) scenery, then I prefer to use ...

hmm, all I'd want is a simple gun, no radar, no arm switches, pippers, etc

That's a great addition, didn't know you could add simple weapons to any aircraft, will have to study that SDK.

I agree making the C drive the SSD makes a lot of difference. I changed my C drive to SSD for non FSX reasons, not expecting any impact to FSX which is on a standard hard drive, but I guess all the number crunching goes on in the OS rather than where FSX resides.

I agree grab them all and try them out One really good aspect with Chrome if you have multiple machines, phones, iPads etc, is you can easily jump from one device to another and see what you were looking at on a prior device and continue with that.
