Don't think its a Shack or a York, the few pictures I've found with flaps down show them to have split flaps, not plain flaps as seen on the what the butler saw...No further ideas at moment.

It is (or was) definitely 'GLSU - look at the shield in the photo that has '6 wells' written above it & then Alamy have a photo of her. G-Info say she is a Bucker Bestmann with a Hirth engine, but built by presumably a Swedish company Hagglund & Soner AB.

I don't know where to go - my trail so far has come to a dead end! I still think its got a 4 cyl inverted RH tractor engine, possibly a retractable U/C, & a cabin type cockpit, so a monoplane which in some respects looks very familiar....I don't think therefore a Me 108 - at least with an Argus ...

Sorry to hear about your friend, I just hope the nurses keep his pills regular, & that constipation is not a problem - I think that problem is because the gut muscles have lost their power to force transit & one has to really apply force to get it to move the final bit. Nuff of that info... ...
