Re: Keith's Chilton DW1

Rob, Memory playing up -bit of research & found that Gary Jones had released a Carden Ford sound file which I have. My aircraft folders only have the makeshift C172 sounds so I must update. I can send you the sound file or you can download the Chilton from FlightSim.com which says the Gary Jones sou...

Re: Photos from Brooklands, Dec 19

I worked at Fairoaks in 1960's, and the Tigers were silver with a green lightning flash along the fuselage. Letters and writing in green also. We had two Chippies in the same colours. Happy days! Must have been after March 1960 then, that was my last recorded flight from Fairoaks in the Auster Alph...

Re: Photos from Brooklands, Dec 19

Can't remember what Fairoaks Tiger were, probably black, with green primer structure, but my fathers Proctor was black, with the standard shock mounted instruments mounted on a black crackle finish panel. The outer instruments on a matt black background. Off the instrument panel, the roof covering w...

Re: Photos from Brooklands, Dec 19

Matt black....possibly because the numerals & needles contrast better? I think I might have got the 'leans' in a F6 with nothing in front of you to reference ones position in space which I did not get in a T7.
Mind you TSR2 was grey & I must admit that the Russian cockpit colours look nice.

Re: Medication.

I had a CT scan of my back (L5 area) & the operator said I had arthritis - it wasn't. When I had an X ray, operator also said it was arthritis too! French seem to outsource specialist scan & X ray clinics, although some are within hospitals, the operators seem to be the analyst also writing up the r...

Re: Medication.

Nigel, Back pain Specialist in France referred me to a physio that practiced the McKenzie method for easing back pain. TENS, physio & 'press-up' type exercise, 16 sessions, certainly eased it for me & has improved over the years. Trouble was a trapped nerve due to a disc collapse which happened abou...

Re: Blackburn Skua

Dave & SkippyBing, I think those flaps that traversed backwards as they rotated were called 'Zap Flaps' & interesting to note that they stopped trim change. What a smashing lot of info there Dave - where does one stop!!! Keith Edit, googling zap flap gives a bad description in some headings, look at...
