It cracks me up. the way RAF Binbrook has been torn apart. I spent seven happy years there on Lincoln's and Canberra's in the fifties. It was always happy station, minimum bull thanks to commanding officers who weren't interested in absolute bull.

Tales from the RAF
There's a new erk on the dispersal and I get the job of showing him round the Lincoln on a need to know basis. Its a cold day and as the NAAFI wagon had been, we take our coffee and wads up into the nose of the plane out of the wind. We settle down and I carry on my chat. Break over, we tidy up and ...

Avro Lincoln and Canberra B2
Hi.
I used to fly these until an eyesight problem put me on ground crew. I have dim recolections of the Lincoln and the Canberra B2 being put on the forum for me and I think it was Dave. I can't find them now can anyone help, I'd love to get behind the sticks again, can anyone help?

Re: New Lancaster due next month....
Hi.
Never mind the Lancaster, how about a Lincoln, I worked on those for a year before we got the Canberra and how about a Canberra B2 or B6. The integral wing tanks on B6 would show up nicely--------Please!

Hi Steve.nazca_steve wrote:Hello Don,
sorry to hijack the thread, but while we're on the subject of creating cartridge starts, if anyone could make me a Canberra one as well, that would be cracking.

Have you actually got a Canberra, I hope its a B2, I worked on them in the fifties on 817 Squadron.

Re: Saying hello
We have a funny fault on a Canberra, after about 20 minutes flying, both engines lose power, down about 30%. The engine mechs and fitters are beaten after trying every thing in the book. Rolls Royce are contacted and in due course the 'Boffin' arrives. He carries out an engine run after which she is...
