Re: Unpressurised airliners and mountain ranges
Thanks for all the input -- when I tried searching the Web for any information on this topic, this happened to be the first result. So, it sounds like flying BSAA across South America really might've been more adventure than transport. When I revisit South America in the Lancastrian, I'll lift the c...

Re: Unpressurised airliners and mountain ranges
Routing I have shows only direct routes.. point to point and this may not be accurate. I'm guessing it's not, as flying direct between Buenos Aires and Santiago or Lima and Maiquetia would surely mean at least 12,000+ ft...! The accident with Star Dust was due to her flying in 45mph winds which wer...

Unpressurised airliners and mountain ranges
Hi all, Haven't tried searching for info about this yet as I thought someone might know and/or be able to point me in the right direction -- I've been flying around South America recently and wondering how / where unpressurised airliners crossed mountain ranges such as the Andes... I've improvised t...

Re: The First Flight Sim I Ever Had
Since it hasn't been mentioned yet -- I'm surprised! -- here's mine. (Although it was the cassette-tape version, not the ultra-futuristic (and probably ulta-expensive) floppy-disc one.)

Re: Aircraft left off station
I fancy grabbing at least one of the VC15s listed and use flying it back to base to remind me of the type before I find myself de-rated... Would this interfere with anyone's plans..? Patrick T(rescher), Scott F(ord)..?

Re: Aircraft left off station
Just spotted this thread and seen that I'm one of the reprobates who've left aircraft off-base -- entirely unintentional, m'lud! -- so I'll sort those out after the flight I have booked. Thanks for the heads-up!

Avro Tudor
Hi all, Does the VA fly the Tudor, or have I simply missed it in the roster...? If not, I'll happily try compiling some routes from e.g. the BSAA timetable scans at timetableimages.com (and/or anywhere else people reckon is worth a look). Always fancied getting lost in the Bermuda Triangle... David ...

Re: 60 years ago today
I'll raise a glass to that, especially as Comets are what I'm currently flying on my computer. Also in memory of those who lost their lives and the team that discovered the cause, to the benefit of all jet airliners, crews and passengers thereafter. Thanks for the reminder.
