Re: EU GB Central
Excuse the dumb reply, but if a building is not modelled (ie Imperial War Museum North for instance).... what do you see instead? Is it a generic building model placed on top of the photo scenery?

Re: Upgrading to MSFS
Thanks everyone for your replies, and thanks Dave for the images. I agree... they are pretty good "out of the box" ..... do you have your settings high? In the short term I will have to run with low end settings but I'm happy to upgrade. Another question, how does the disk space work? The ...

Upgrading to MSFS
Hello folks, I'm considering an upgrade to MSFS and would value your thoughts and opinions. I currently use FSX, with Horizon VFR photographic scenery, TreeScape, and UK 2000 airports. For the sort of flying I do, (low and slow VFR, no big jets or complicated airports for me), it seems to work okay....

SkySim Hawk
Did the SkySim Hawk come with a Manual?
I transferred it manually (drag and drop) into Steam FSX ages ago but can't see a manual.... was there ever one in there?

Re: Exploring X-Plane a bit
Ah thank-you this makes more sense now! My PC is an i5, 8 Gig of Ram and a GeForce GTX 750. I was getting good frames (high 20s/low 30s) but it seems I had the slider for number of world objects set to minimum (thought it was a bit sparse!!). I have now set it to your recommended settings and I’m ge...

Re: Exploring X-Plane a bit
I have been playing with the X Plane demo, and it’s growing on me. After years of FSX/Horizon UK VFR and Treescape, I’m looking for something a bit more up to date. Unfortunately the JF UK VFR Scenery just released is quite frankly awful, and I would be happy to invest in X Plane and the True Earth ...

Re: Orbx Road Map for 2019
The upcoming JF product is going to be 1.2M per pixel going down to 60CM per pixel in certain areas (cities and around airports) with a a mesh of 5M. This is the same as Horizon/Playsims VFR scenery of a few years back. Is the OrbX stuff higher Res? I couldn't find anything in their specs to compare...

Re: Preview Orbx True Earth UK Central
I don't think I could ever accept "generic" scenery now after using photographic (albeit out of date). A move to X plane is tempting as the demo is growing on me, however I had an email update from Just Flight today saying that their Photographic scenery is due for release in early January...
