Re: DMFS BAC 1-11 FSX Upgrade
I had the updated 111 installed in FSX and it is fantastic. I recently got a new system for FSX and decided to go with a standalone FSX-Steam install. The 111 is installed and working great (with Bjoern's excellent mods) but the smoke effect isn't working. I doublechecked that the fx_smoke_f6 file i...

Re: hs748 no textures
For what it's worth, I fly this plane in FSX and when I hit the simicon for the pressure controller, I don't actually get the black gauge part with the knobs. I have to go to the view menu and select it from the instrument panel submenu. It is the last item in the list I think. Maybe the OP is havin...

Re: FH-227 w/McKay Panel-- Synch Control?
Thanks! I knew I had to be looking right at the thing. I probably assumed that that was a dummy switch.

HS748---Wow!!!
I just did a nice 110 mile flight with the HS748. That was terrific! I was a little intimidated with all the systems at first, but manged to pretty much figure it all out and follow the checklist feature, which is remarkable in and of itself. Thanks for hosting this plane and the others, and for the...

FH-227 w/McKay Panel-- Synch Control?
Hi guys. I am flying Mike Stone's FH-227 model with Fraser McKay's incredible panel. I am trying to fly with all systems operated according to the checklists, but I can't seem to find the setting for Synch anywhere. I am probably just overlooking it.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Navigation in UK/Europe
http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids.html Update your magvar data... Then its identical with your charts :) Already done a few months ago when I found the skyvector.com site. That's why my real world numbers work so well in following the magenta line. But it won't work in EU/UK unless I know which radia...

Re: Navigation in UK/Europe
I joined the EAD site. I have a listing of all documents under the charts/enr filters, and there don't appear to be any actual charts with VOR radial info. I find it REALLY hard to believe that UK/EU airways are based on dead reckoning from intersection to intersection. I could believe everything be...

Re: Navigation in UK/Europe
I think maybe I just don't quite understand your airways in the UK and Europe. In North America, the high altitude airways all have VORs along them. You stay on the airway by staying on the proper radials for the VORs. It seems like yours are more complicated, often being associated with a radial fr...

Re: Navigation in UK/Europe
Thanks, Degsy. I have tried that in the past. In my experience, the heading info you get from the FSX Navlog is unreliable. It can be anywhere from 2 to 8 degrees wrong from the course that the FSX ATC thinks you should be on. Enough wrong so that you can be following the Navlog info perfectly, bang...

Navigation in UK/Europe
I am trying to figure out how to use radio navigation in UK with high altitude airways. In the States, we have a wonderful site called skyvector.com, that gives you charts and tools you can use to plan and fly. Most importantly, when you look at the VORs that are associated with a given airway, the ...
