Not according to the RAF's website anyway. The Sentinel seems to have a more tactical role, and the R1 a more, well, secret role!
The Sentinel take-off on Saturday morning at Waddington last year was amazing though! Straight up into a tight spiral - an extremely overpowered aircraft.

Re: Goodbye old girl
That's very sad news. There was no mention of this at Waddington last year, and makes one wonder what is wrong with the airframes when there appears to be no replacement ready.Garry Russell wrote:The R1's are finished now

Re: Skysim Hawk- where's that activation email?!
Glad it's sorted. Mine was never really sorted properly (I have to click the button to activate every flight). Not a biggie, but you'd like it fixed when you've paid money for it. Not any slight on Rick of course - great model, and I know he wasn't responsible for the half-arsed activation. Ja...

Re: Detroit Incident..A Close Call??
Indeed. Good when these things fail, better when we catch them in advance. Sounds like an amateur effort to me though, although the concealment seems quite professional. Who on earth would try to blow an airliner up 10 minutes before landing? Unpressurised, you'd cause some damage and inconvenience ...

Re: Lightning crash
the prelim crash report... makes for some sad reading Indeed. Makes TC sound rather sloppy actually. Of course, there's only one way to test the seat. But it should at least be serviced properly. I can't understand why there were no fire warnings, on a system renowned for it's oversensitivity. I su...

Re: Play.com and Royal Mail (RANT)
Never had any trouble with Play (well, apart from broken CD cases which I can't be bothered to complain about). But I frequently have difficulty tracking Royal Mail Special / Recorded items. I find they often show no information. For poor Customer Service, Creative get my vote. It cost me £6 to send...

Re: UK2000 Manchester screenshots
Non-flat runways was one of the first publicised improvements of FSX. It was dropped (along with many other features) when time got short. I'm sure the Courcheval runway with the 'ramp' works in FS9! Don't know how though. Come to think of it, it was sometimes possible to fly through it! As for the ...

Re: A400M About To Fly
One interesting point on the A400 is that the props on each wing turn in the opposite direction! Must be a headache aerodynamically and mechanically, although worth it for the benefits it brings. Youtube The TP400 is a BIG engine: http://www.intell.rtaf.mi.th/intellFilesUpload/intellnews/47917-01.gi...
