Re: Breakfast Surprise!!

Coincidence or ? Opened three eggs this am for an omelette. Six yolks! Have to admit they came from a carton of jumbo egg that I’d bought on sale yesterday. The jumbos often have twins. Don’t normally buy them, but they were 40 cents cheaper than large, probably reaching their “sell by date”. Should...

Re: Electrickery

Not a big deal. I've had wireless utility meters for 5 or 6 years. The install was painless. The electric meter took less than a minute, unplugged old meter, plugged in new. Gas took a little longer, as they modified the existing meter. They removed the face plate over the mechanical dial and attach...

Re: Safety in the USA?

John Scalzi, my favorite SF author, penned a farewell essay that says it all: https://whatever.scalzi.com/2021/01/20/the-unlamented-man/ ( the many comments are also enlightening) The nightmare is finally over, but there is a lot of hard work ahead to restore our country. Tonight, after watching the...

Re: A Blackpool Tram outside of Blackpool

Worked for me yesterday. Go to WRM.ORG and find the car roster. This worked for me this am. Not a great photo, nose quarter in barn.

Re: A Blackpool Tram outside of Blackpool

Blackpool Transit #226, an open "boat car", currently resides at the Western Railway Museum in Rio Vista Junction, Ca (SE of Travis AFB). The focus is on Streetcars Trams and Interurban railways, with about 100 pieces of rolling stock and almost 10 miles of electrified track. Unfortunately...

Re: Scam Warning!

I've almost eliminated all robocalls. My landline phone is a newer model of Panasonic ( KX-TGE633) that intercepts incoming calls and if unidentified or not stored in contact list, requests caller to "dial 1 to complete this call". Robo callers are unable to complete this task and hang up....

Re: Book Recommendation

Came across two very interesting books in a local library recently. Spitfires, Thunderbolts and Warm Beer by Philip D Caine.(isbn 0-02-881115-1) A young American civil pilot, LeRoy Gover joined the RAF in 1941, trained at a US contract school, and found himself flying Spitfires (66 Sq) in the spring...

The file is at flightsim.com. FML188ap.zip I had to search for Fraser's name to find it.

Re: ELECTRA-Flying

I have to agree with Avro748 that Fraser's panel is by far the best for the Electra. While I never piloted the Electra I do have quite a few hours in the left seat of Lockheed's other four engine whisper jet, the C-130. Systems and operation are almost identical. Fraser's panel models the operation ...

Re: Large Update Windows 10

Thought I'd bump this thread as I got the "Creator coming" (ver 1704) message last week, and a ready to install advisory on friday. Finally told the machine to go ahead. Went smoothly but slowly, 1hour, 18 minutes, but all seems well. Load times may be slightly faster but all programs run ...
