Re: FS9 AI Traffic for the 1970's.
Ben , that last shot is a very nice view of Perry Oaks sludge [ sewerage works ] works , where they produced 'Cinagro .... [ Organic backwards ] fertiliser .. Now of course it's Terminal 5 . And don't those T-birds look clean . Back then even tech log entries asking for a clean didn't do any good . ...

B12 , That's why I mentioned ... '' Delivery flts could perhaps be classified as 'Private , and the 1 hr rule ignored '' . Still an interesting challenge , even if the stepping stones [ ETOPs 'wordology ] are much further apart , and what your own attitude to risk is . Ernest K Gann , in ' Fate is t...

Re: How To Get 737-200 From England To New Zealand??
CS , in commercial service the B732s were not certified as ETOPs a/c [ Extended range Twin Operations ] . Thus with pax on you had always to be within 1 hour [ at single engine speed ] of a 'Suitable A/D . Not sure how long the RWYs at Lord Howe and Norfolk Island are ? If long enough that would per...

Re: How To Get 737-200 From England To New Zealand??
Aharon , Looking at map ,and remembering back to '86-'87 [when we { BA Airtours } leased WE from Britts ] . It looks like a 5 leg trip to NZ . With pax , 732s could easily make UK- Eastern Med . Without pax , they might have got to the Gulf . Thus a 1 stop , 1st days work UK-S.India . 2nd day S. Ind...

Re: Interesting Airline Rescue Operation By Eastern Tristar
Aharon , thank you for this . Remember the story in '' The Friday Firelighter '' [ BA weekly newspaper ]. Girlfriend at the time was Cabin Crew No 8 flight [ flew Tristars ] . N323EA was reputed to have 'The Ghost of Flt 401' on board .. Mostly seen in the under floor galley late at night ! The stor...

Brian , being a colonial ; well knows of Jimmy Buffet . He's not so well known in UK [ bit less than the Singing Postman ] . Over here , think only well known tune is ' Come Monday ' . Singer song writer from the Gulf Coast , forebears Blue water sailors . Aviator , well known for his Grumman Albatr...

Re: Return of the Mac.
Paul , Is the Tindal VOR a TACAN ? A TACAN is for Mil a/c. only , and is same frequency spectrum as VORs/ILSs. One like Yeovilton VLN 111.0 ...is not received by real Civi a/c VORs . However the DME part of it sometimes is . But Flt Sim doesn't seem to know it's a TACAN and it operates as a VOR. In ...
