Paul , don't know on eng. approvals , I guess it was a very basic A/P , and the boys were flying her . Hitched hiked a few times on LHR-NWI-LHR on a staff ticket , to go sailing on Hickling with my dad . Paul , you'll have to do as Air Uk's forerunner Air Anglia ..... '' We're bigger than you think '' ... ''We're faster than you think '' [ Ads from the '70s ! ] did.
AA did not employ any autopilot engineers ... Every time they aquired another F27 , contracted in an engineer to remove any A/pilot ...

TSR , have seen them from high up over Saudi , really strange seeing green circles in the middle of desert .

Aharon , glad you got the message and they are helpful . Still remember flying between the flats on approach to THF , and still have hair , 'tho it's white !
Don't know if you were on the forum when Peter McClelland was active , I flew as his co pilot several times .

PS , before start clearance was issued , the 4 powers around a table in the BASC [ Berlin air safety centre ] had to a sign a 'safety of flt is guaranteed' chit, Russians often delayed it .. The corridors were 10,000 ft high [ no jets when they were negotiated ] , 20 Statute [ not Nautical ] miles ...

Ben , that last shot is a very nice view of Perry Oaks sludge [ sewerage works ] works , where they produced 'Cinagro .... [ Organic backwards ] fertiliser ..
Now of course it's Terminal 5 .
And don't those T-birds look clean . Back then even tech log entries asking for a clean didn't do any good ...
