Re: INVISIBLE P3D

Thought I had better give you all an update of how we are at the moment. Most of the Orbx stuff less True Earth Southern England which gave me much grief when it was installed originally and TE The Netherlands has been installed. Each scenery add on was completed using FTX Central 3 which worked fin...

Re: INVISIBLE P3D

Well, so far, everything is working as it should. After each install I'm doing a restart and then having a quick flight in the area I have just added. Seems to be working, continuing with caution  Next will be X-Plane……… SWMBOWQ say; "It's a hobby, you're supposed to enjoy it!" I always have th...

Re: INVISIBLE P3D

After the above I thought 'one more go?' and did. Result was that all the black squares/lakes had gone and the scenery looked passable. Tried Innsbruck and that area seemed to be fine. Will tootle on later adding a bit here and there to see how things pan out. :dunno: Who knows, I may have …...er no...

Re: INVISIBLE P3D

Nev, I have always had the Orbx scenery files within the main P3D folder - it has always worked in the past. This time I tried having the library separate but this did not work as the install program seemed to ignore it half the time. So I have reverted to Plan 'A' for the time being but: Nigel, it ...

Re: INVISIBLE P3D

You must do this every time you uninstall before reinstalling. Did that and Orbx threw a hissy fit saying that the 'Scenery Config was missing and that I should reinstall P3D. So, in the end I did a complete uninstall by the book and began the long drag of reinstalling. After each install of an Orb...

Re: INVISIBLE P3D

Thanks Nev, just proves you're never too old to learn.

I will try this out later today after I get my 'new' car taxed on line.

Re: INVISIBLE P3D

Thank you responding.
Did you remove all the files that P3D uses?
No, never realised that I needed to. Very much a 'plug & play' flight simmer I'm afraid.

So, do I have to delete appdate? Next question is why and where is it?

Re: INVISIBLE P3D

Er no, I left Orbx on auto and left it to it. I know, I know, stupid error but it did work initially and all the scenery was there but subsequent attempts had the above problem. I was hoping not to have to do a clean install with individual scenery installs and then 'proving flights' before going on...

INVISIBLE P3D

Just undergone a complete re-install of Win 10, 64 bit and a new installation of P3D v4.5 and all its Orbx scenery. When things go smoothly be suspicious - this was an easy-peasy set up except.... On running P3D it seems to load up as normal for the first 45 seconds or so and then the screen image s...

Fell for it!

Brilliant, a worthwhile cause it certainly is.
