Re: Cold and wet in York

Great museum. Haven't been back since they got the Mirage IV, so maybe this year.

Great photos. I'm way overdue for another visit down there. Time to renew my membership, too.

Re: Round the World 3: Adelaide's Vimy

Yes, all these pioneers right up to the start of WW2 were remarkable men and women. I'm hoping for a Vickers Vimy in MSFS at some point - maybe with the 1990's replica Vimy as an option.

Glad you're enjoying the pictures, Ben.

Round the World 3: Adelaide's Vimy

After the trip on the Ghan, I spent a few days in Adelaide, visiting places from my childhood, including my old school. Thence to the airport for the flight to Sydney, but making sure I had plenty of time to see the Smith Brother's Vimy. This was the first time I'd seen the aircraft since 1968. I've...

GREAT PHOTOS

Is it my imagination or am I seeing F-18 Hornet in the museum?? Is it too young to be in the museum??

Regards,

Aharon
It's one of the early Hornets, but I believe it is a recent addition to the museum. They are now replaced by the Super Hornets in RAAF service.

Re: Around the World 2: Darwin

Had to look up that train journey, looks like a great way to go across Australia. It was wonderful. My own cabin, superb food, free bar, great people - I'd recommend it to anyone. Plus, I finally got to Alice Springs, somewhere I didn't get to when I lived in Australia as a boy. We had a talk at th...

Re: Around the World 2: Darwin

Ben, if you look at the underside of the Mirage's fuselage, just behind the nose wheel, you'll see she's a bit battered.

Around the World 2: Darwin

After Singapore, I flew down to Darwin. I was only there for two days, and the aviation museum was a priority. Click on the pictures for the full image: Getting off at Darwin airport. No, no, Ben...don't thank me - it's a pleasure. https://i.imgur.com/9zm9L4y.jpg Considering the museum is really onl...
