Re: McAfee or Kyspersky?

McAfee does not get good reviews. I've been using Kaspersky for 2 years and just bought it for another year. Paid £17-99 for 10 devices and have a DVD no just a download. Currently £15 at Amazon for 3 devices: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0157APZ7K/?tag=ho01f-21 If you have not heard of it h...

Re: Upgrade

Re: M$ strikes again

My Avast virus checker on the XP box is telling me to abandon Internet Explorer since it won't be updated further on XP and hence switch to Chrome.

Might be worth considering if I even used IE on that PC.

Re: Misheard lyrics

Steve Winwood "Bring me a higher love" has been widely misheard as "Bring me an iron lung"

Not too painful for the 54 seconds of this video before you can make up your own minds ;)

Re: Malaysian 777

Re: Malaysian 777

ACARS is the maintenance and general info system. Transmits on VHF around 130Mhz and is further than line of sight. ADSB is used for position tracking by ATC (what you see on FR24). That is line of sight (transmitted at 1090Mhz) but at 30,000 feet typical range can be up to 200 miles. Sounds a lot i...

Re: Ethiopian 787 Repair...

Quite an extensive flight test - up to FL380 and some sharp turns to check the super glue was ok.

But even more interesting is FR24 log of recent flights - back in service?

Re: Guernsey Civil Aircraft Register

As Garry says, trying to cash in on the example shown by IoM.

Manx register here:

And the marks can be re-issued as many times as needed!

Re: Became a Grandad today !!

West Middlesex hospital - I know that since just across the road from the primary school I went to. And my sister retired as a midwife from there this year :) . Not the easiest place to get to or find somewhere to park.
