Re: Bitzer project

Ooh Silver, shiney! Me stubborn - you should meet SWMBO - 38+ yrs and I still can't shake her off. :OB: :worried: :worried: :OB: Owen Thetford is your friend, but it is interesting to see the differences in officially released information down the years. At least Mike's quests help me to justify the...

Re: Safety in the USA?

I believe Mandy Rice-Davies had a phrase for the sudden change of view of our Poundland Trump! But then U-turns are the Boris trademark de jour. Perhaps he would have a better idea of how many children he has if he made some of them earlier. :worried: Hopefully tomorrow goes off without drama and th...

Re: Pilot Survives Enormous Crash

Re: Bitzer project

The marbles are definitely fading fast. I somehow managed to type a pm and then failed to send or leave it in drafts. Suspect it's not the first time either. If the mind is going ever faster I shall keep my ardent enthusiasm for the pins to myself (Pete can have one I suppose). Ted Cook made both th...

Re: Bitzer project

I shudder to think where Jo will go with this one, suffice to say the 3view does no credit to her undercarriage.

Re: Could This be the End of Steam Railways?

There are some chunky snails on those tracks, but Brian is probably right, the route is now just a tourist attraction. Oddly enough my wife was not keen on buying a souvenir CD of engine soundtracks - or taking a trip on the train, something about wanting to breathe. :OB:

Re: Could This be the End of Steam Railways?

For planet killing emissions I think the Cass Mountain Railway in West Virginia takes some beating. I cam across it when trundling round West Virginia in 2013.

Re: Connie flyers?

The Lockheed Constellation was known as the fastest three-engined airliner in its day. Apparently, when my mother flew from Calcutta back to Scotland on her own while pregnant with me, the QANTAS Connie she flew on lost an engine between Calcutta and Kharachi. So they had to wait for another engine ...
