Re: Ambassador routes out of Luca

Hi Dave If Dale has a mind to he could download my BEA Elizabethan and make the fuel/power calculator. This would tell him whats possible and whether the FSX models characteristics re power and fuel and somewhere near right. My last FS9 version was pretty accurate in that respect. Doubt I will be fl...

Re: Ambassador routes out of Luca

Hi Dave

a long time since we last communed (the FS9 Elizabethan update was my last contribution). Surely no one is flying that.
Can't sleep so I'm browsing old haunts.

Re: BEA Elizabethan

Rob,

No need to apologize; not a major issue as far as I am concerned.

Elizabethan

I still don't have a licence to fly the VA - so I hope I am not breaking any rules. Its not really relevant but it might arouse someones curiosity; have just flown my BEA Elizabethan for EGLL to EKCH using the 1953 BEA timetable. This gives timings of 1505 take off and arrive 1800 which I set in FS9...

Re: BEA Elizabethan

I'm curious, has anyone made the cruise computer yet, and were you able achieve the fuel consumption it indicated.

cheers

Re: BEA Elizabethan

Leif
In the 'documents' folder of the zip there is a file 'CruCompTop.jpg'. Could u use that for the thumbnail; having a useable cruise computer was a major reason for doing the update.

BEA Elizabethan

Uploaded the BEA Elizabethan to the Pond t'other day. Just noticed that the 'short description' is missing. So here are the basics. Its yet another rework of the D-GHHH Ambassador; configured as a BEA Lizzie. It has a working cruise computer which you can make. If u fly by the manual and use the cru...

Re: BEA Timetable 1950's

Many thanks for that Tom. Could be sometime before I release an update turning the current Ambassador into a fully fledged Elizabethan as I am having probs getting the fuel burn correct across a range of cruising speeds. No need for anyone to get excited as its not a new model - just a revision to t...

Re: HS748 empty weight

Just to complicate matters, not all aircraft have an MZFW. If all the fuel is in the fuselage or wing centre tanks an MZFW is not required as the limiting structural factor is then the MTOW. Having an MZFW means that fuel is positioned outboard of the wing root to reduce the amount of upward bending...

Re: BEA Timetable 1950's

Thanks Richard, don't think there is much chance of me getting to Gatwick. Dave - my suspicion is that they probably ran at 162 ish 182 TAS at 15000. This is all so I can get the fuel burn to match the Cruise Computer. I will have to do some more testing to get a feel for the altitude they might hav...
