Re: New FS2004 Canberra WIP thread
Blimey, after telescoping out the cable even some 100 odd feet back was enough of a job for me last night, let alone 30,000 :lol: :lol: I'll see about adding some 'sag' to it and off setting a touch. Keith, were you a pilot or nav on Canberras - sounds like you might have some good stories or photos...

Re: New FS2004 Canberra WIP thread
Hah! Nice one Bob, that is indeed the great Bill Holker model, and one of the repaints I did for it years ago. Presumably then he did the telescoping method Dave talked about, and it had some nice physics on the cable if I remember rightly too. I have to admit, until Dave mentioned that approach, I ...

Re: New FS2004 Canberra WIP thread
Not a bad idea at all, Dave; I went on a 'Eureka moment' walk for that very kind of idea yesterday but no apples were falling from trees. I'll have to see how I get on with that, cheers though.

Re: New FS2004 Canberra WIP thread
Thanks a lot, gents, it was a bugger mapping those belly stripes I can tell you, involving a fair bit of hair-pulling and some 1am sessions. Pete, thanks for that inside info on towing; I will duly pay out only one of the targets, but ref the longer cable, if I have it hanging five miles back (as I'...

Re: New FS2004 Canberra WIP thread
Hello all, Quick update on the project, I've made lots of progress since last time, mainly external modelling on the variants and am currently working on the TT.18. I only just learned today that FS9 does not allow scaling animations, which pretty much buggered up my plans to have the cable pay out ...

Re: disappearing pilot
If anyone ever needs this code for FS9, try this: <part> <name>pilot</name> <visible_in_range> <parameter> <code> (A:SIM on GROUND, bool) ! == (A:BRAKE PARKING POSITION, bool) == if{ (A:ENG1 HYDRAULIC PRESSURE, psi) ! 100 * } els{ 0 } </code> </parameter> <minvalue>-1</minvalue> <maxvalue>0</maxvalu...

Re: Goodbye old girl
'Purdiness' is always a often debated matter of opinion, John! IMHO, old girls like this have far more character, and therefore win me over than today's aircraft. Regardless, lovely screenshot. Just needs some rain streaks...

Re: New FS2004 Canberra WIP thread
Thanks, Auster, and it's being done in Gmax. Moving onto the bomb bay this week hopefully.

Re: New FS2004 Canberra WIP thread
Fair enough then chaps, I am duly informed. I was going off the various static museum shots I have where the lever is in place. Makes sense that they'd want to show off all the 'tech' I suppose.

Re: New FS2004 Canberra WIP thread
You've got me confused, Pete, surely, when in flight, the lever would not be stowed, but in position for use? I will say though in this shot it's incorrectly positioned inside of the seat lever, which I've since fixed. I also had the seat lever length too long, so I've trimmed that back a bit.
