Re: I Crashed !!!

This from an FAA/NTSB report into a 767 that landed so hard that the outer skin was creased!

A hard landing is defined as a landing with a vertical acceleration of more than 2.6 g at the center of gravity or:
-a vertical speed (v/s) of more than 600 ft/min.

Re: I Crashed !!!

Hi Adrian, Yes I agree that -300 is rather a hard landing, looking through all of the books I have on early 737 and 727, anywhere from -175 to -350 would appear to be acceptable aslong as it was within G-Limits. As an aside, I do find it interesting that within the flightsim community, just how much...

Re: I Crashed !!!

It was a strange one. I did have a hard landing -300fps but quite normal. As the Autobrakes kicked in, the client registered the parking brakes and gave the ding-dong, at which point X-Plane froze for a few second and came back with me registering a crash in the client! X-Plane itself did not regist...

I Crashed !!!

Hi Guys, Just a quick message to apologise as it appears that I recorded as a crash coming into Glasgow in G-BAZI this afternoon. I think I know what caused it it's just frustrating that it happened after the client had recorded the Parkiing Brake going on. I must say that the client does some stran...

Re: Flight Tests on Boeing 737 Max Start Next Week.

I could not agree more Ben and Nigel, My confidence in the 737Max is now non-existant and will be quite happy to never set foot on one! I do like the idea of an improved 757 version which I know has been quietly mooted for some time as an easier solution instead of the 797 which requires a full desi...

Re: Gaining and maintaining Type ratings

Indeed it is Adrian, however it is the only one available for X-plane and is showing improvements with every release! Having now flown a few test flights with her she behaves well and is perfectly capable of completing all of our flights, it's just knowing what you have to do and can or cannot press...

Re: Flight Tests on Boeing 737 Max Start Next Week.

Boeing started test flying a few weeks ago! I think the press are getting confused between these Boeing test flights and the FAA test flights that start this week in order to start the recertification process. Personally I think it will take quite a bit of effort to rebuild confidence in the MAx and...

Re: Type Ratings page

It was still there a month or two ago as I remember, while I was looking at my ratings and trying to workout which A/C I could get for X-plane!
