Re: MSFS CTD

And it was going so well... 35 minutes or so in on what I was hoping would be a longer flight I was just thinking I needed to pause the sim to go to the tip when along came a CTD to solve that particular problem. I had renamed the community folder and sure enough only default content was available. ...

Re: Which Joystick?

No worries Nigel. The Gladiator is still gathering dust so the same offer to anyone else who is short of a joystick or 3. I have the X56 and find that it works very well and with more than enough buttons, switches and sticky out bits to almost remove the need to use the keyboard.

MSFS CTD

Is anyone else getting regular CTD's in MSFS? It's the permissions error and with the same MSFS process each time. I've run diagnostics on the RAM with no issues. I've dialled back on the settings to reduce stress on the system. All that I achieved was to delay the onset of the CTD.

Hi Nigel, I have a Gladiator II, which is gathering dust. Yours for P&P if you want it?

Re: Best Wishes, Condolences, and Good Luck.

Well that's one benefit of not wearing a mask! I continue to wear a mask in indoor spaces on the principle that I am less likely to spread any airborne nasties if I have them and it may make others feel safer. Locally most people wear masks in indoor public spaces. As for vaccines and spreading the ...

Re: Two rare sightings

We often have Yaks as well as Apaches over ours. The local airfield has about 6 Yaks. Fortunately they're all well behaved - no reported instances of Yak droppings in the neighbourhood.

Re: MSFS2020 and VR, GPU recommendations?

With a 1070 by far and away the best option is AFS2. Performance in VR is good to very good. I had the 1070 and XP was a non-starter so I don't believe MSFS would be viable without a compromise too far.

Re: Oculus Quest 2 Settings.

Good to hear you're enjoying VR in XP Nigel. I hate to say it but you have to try MSFS. I get similar performance in both but MSFS graphics shades XP with Ortho tiles. I've downloaded the latest World update, which I'm looking forward to trying but for various reasons, mainly work, I've not had the ...

Re: Oculus Quest 2 Settings.

Hi Nigel, sorry it has taken so long to reply... I spent that weekend re-grouting a patio, which meant that I was then barely able to move for the next 5 days! The joys of getting old(er) eh. I did a quick flight in XP using the Quest 2. Launching XP using Steam VR was problematic in that whilst res...
