I have a Dell similar to yours , although mine is 3.2 GHZ P4, with a Radeon X 600 and it handles virtually any situation with framerates in th 20s, and more usually 40+. I should give your setup a thorough checkout as i feel sure you should get better performance than this

Twice in the last 3 weeks I have seen what looked like a Comet 3 or 4 in flight.The first time it was northbound through Wallasey at about 8,000 feet, and the second time southbound. there is a quite remarkable picture at the bottom of page 5 showing a take off into the sunset with the vortices quite clearly shown, along with the swirling heat from the jet efflux

I find it quite incredible that a Connie and B17 should be excluded. Ditto the MS Paris which I flew a few times in the 70s and which was not unduly noisy either inside or out

It fell onto Queen's . It was a wake encounter as others have said.I have not read the report recently, but IIRC the problem arose from rapid reversals of full rudder at about 250 kts IAS at about 3,000 feet in the climb which exceeded the design load by a considerable margin.
