On the other side of the Channel here in Belgium, my thermometer hit 34.9°C - that's about 95F - and it is mounted in the shade.
And the local forecaster predicts even hotter weather in the coming days.
Never thought I'd mis a rainy summer this much. x_x

Re: UK unveils New Tempest Aircraft
Knowing how these things would turn out, Planey would probably be rejected in favour of public choice 2 - the BAe Spitfire...

Re: UK unveils New Tempest Aircraft
Ah, the BAe Planey Mc-Planeface then. The picture that dominates the news everywhere makes it look like a miniature F-22, but an article on FlightGlobal shows it from a different angle: https://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/farnborough-tempest-concept-underscores-uk-fighter-450327/ Althou...

Dunno - it somehow seems familiar.

Re: AIRSPEED CONSUL BETA
Just did a small trial flight, and I found two minor issues: - The Virtual Cockpit viewpoint for the Consul (and Oxbox) seems to be a tad too high. Both are set in such a way that the canopy frame blocks out most of the lower horizontal view, especially when looking to port. I reset the eyepoint fro...

Re: AIRSPEED CONSUL BETA
Back from a protracted period without internet. I still need to finish my repaints for the Oxford, but finding the Envoy here is a nice surprise! :3 Definitely going to give it a spin, and see if it throws up any issues. If it helps, I already cobbled up a voicepack shout-out for the Consul (and for...

Re: Slapping on some paint
Still haven't been able to complete the paints due to a family visit, but I did see an Oxbox today. https://i.imgur.com/zkxcpOv.jpg Airspeed Oxford O-16 of the (former) Belgian Air Force was built as MP499 for the Royal Air Force. She was transferred to the Belgian Air Force in July of 1947 and serv...

Re: Slapping on some paint
Hi Dave, Glad you like them! Still some work left to do on them, but I think they may be up this week (if the contracters working on the street don't accidentally cut the internet again - took them three days to repair last week...) Hi Airspeed, Well, I did start out with MSpaint a couple of years a...

Re: Slapping on some paint
A second attempted repaint is yet another 'scandy' Oxbox: 'Danish Air Taxi', or to give it its proper name, TRANSair A/S of Kastrup, Copenhagen (not to be confused with its Swedish neighbour Transair Sweden AB of Bultofta, Malmo on the other side of the Sund) owned three Oxfords and two Consuls at v...

Slapping on some paint
With Molyned's excellent new Oxford, I decided to pick up the paintbrush once again. I was a bit rusty after two years of not repainting, but eventually I managed to turn out this little Finnish gem. https://i.imgur.com/KESm8bR.jpg Still haven't 'grimed her up', so she still needs a bit of work befo...
