Re: Firefly F1 for Prepar3D 4

https://bravozuludotblog.files.wordpress.com/2018/09/2018-9-26_20-54-5-627.jpg?w=840 So it may be easier to make an FSX version than I thought. I mean it can't be harder than reinstalling FSX was! Would there be much interest? Probably not before the end of October as I'm away for the next couple o...

Re: Firefly F1 for Prepar3D 4

Dare I ask......is there any plans for an FSX version or can this version be used in FSX? Not at the moment, it uses various P3D features like material scripting and the native radar gauge that I'd have to remove for FSX or come up with an alternative. As I don't use FSX anymore that's potentially ...

Re: No ILS = emergency? Am I missing something here?

This is a more air minded summary of the situation - http://avherald.com/h?article=4bd8a3c1&opt=0
In short the ceiling was around 500' and they'd lost any method of conducting a precision approach. So yes I'd declare an emergency. ATC weren't being particularly useful either.

Re: Reno Air Races 2018

British designed engines on the Mustangs as well. Got to be careful with Sea Fury engines in the US - if its got a 5 blade prop then its got a Centaurus, if its got only 4 blades then its a Yank corncob. Interesting that the Sea Furys were two seaters. Keith I believe the change for racing is...

Re: RAF Scampton to Close.

I see Linton-on-Ouse is to go too , probably taking Topcliffe and Dishforth with it. A shame, but stupidly buying stupidly expensive F-35s means you can't afford enough aircraft to need more than a couple of airbases. Red Arrows maybe not, but how many Super Hornets could you get for 1 F35? Austral...

Re: RAF Scampton to Close.

I was under the impression that the Red Arrows' machines rotated in and out of the remaining Hawk T1 fleet? I believe that due to the nature of the display manoeuvres, they accumulate fatigue a bit faster than normal flying. Is there any plan to purchase more Hawk T2s to replace Mk1s and 1As and pr...

Re: RAF Scampton to Close.

A friend of mine is serving at Shawbury and they have around two dozen T1's in storage. http://www.fast-air.co.uk/raf-shawbury-photography-100129/ To be honest that doesn't have much bearing on the out of service date which is early 2020s at the moment. I can't see them justifying keeping a type in...
