Re: Adverse yaw on Viscount...
    I looked at the gauge on the Vanguard this afternoon while on a quick little earner to Brussels and concur very much with that DM. I find this sort of thing with APEP at Brooklands all the time. The theory from our team of aged desparados is that Vickers bought bulk orders o...

   This is what happens when you answer a question without thinking about it  I realised as soon as Macs pointed that out that it was so much codswallop but in my defence.. I've scoured the internet and come up with absolutely zero for info on that type of indicator. Everyone, e...

Re: Adverse yaw on Viscount...
I used to know about this, but it's got a little hazy now. As Dave said, standard rate turn is a full circle in 2 minutes (3 degrees per second). But as you say, a 4 minute turn is less movement than a 2 minute turn - so the scale can't be refering to minutes. Thinking back to what I learned about ...

Re: Adverse yaw on Viscount...
Hi Macs :) I don't think you'd have used much rudder on an aircraft of this size unless it was during the landing phase or when asked to do a particular turn at slow speed. The markings on the turn and slip are calibrated to enable you to make a 'standard' (2 minute) turn (shown by the 2). The 4 wo...

Adverse yaw on Viscount...
Been flying the 'Count, for a few days now, and am now re-addicted to it  . One thing I have noticed is that since there is no "yaw damper" or "coupler" you have to pretty much stick and rudder it (Which is part of the reason I like flying it.) I have noticed though, on turn...

Re: Navigating between 2 fixes
NACO used to have it, but is now restricted. I have some old Jpeg's which are the ones you see above. They are a bit better resolution than what you see on the forums, but at least it's something. You can also purchase some ol charts on ebay or do a search on the internet, sometimes people have them...

Re: Navigating between 2 fixes
Here's the rest of the route. AS you can see, all can be done with radio nav only (VOR and NDB); all you need is some charts (with the exception of the arrival, but usually by that time Approach radar will have you under its grips, giving you vectors ;-) ). The only one I do not know how to get is t...

Many thanks again Fraser, I actually managed to do a pretty decent flight today, following your recommendations/explanations. Thanks,

Re: Where do Classic British Simmers go to Fly?
You can find me usually in the Central America and Carri bean area, as well as in Europe and, well everywhere, but mostly in the American continent, lately.
