I think there is a fs9 one with floats and wheels versions by John Woodward. I can't remember if it only has a vc, but I think someone has also done a 2d panel for us luddite types.

For a guess I thought your first try was a really good one, and in fact is pretty much the lines of the 3 squadron green scheme for the top wing.
