Re: EE Lightning

Thanks! Bought and installed! I'll now have to get to grips with the thing. My only problem is, and I can see it coming already is my lack of imagination! I've previously bought the Iris Vulcan and the Flying Stations Canberra. Both excellently modelled aircraft but after a few hours of flights I ge...

EE Lightning

Hello Chaps,
Does anyone know of a decent Lightning, payware or other for FS9?

Alpha's Lightning was good externally but I though poor on the cockpit.

I've heard tell of another Austrailian company who do a payware version but I can't find it anywhere.

All ideas gratefully received!

Re: New Graphics Card

Sorted! New power supply of 600W, graphics card in and even with not a lot of time to experiment, a noticeable increase in frame rates is evident. This is even more obvious not with FSX but Rail Simulator which will now run seamlessly on the highest detail settings. Looking at my windows experience ...

Re: New Graphics Card

It's 350W and I have only one spare power point.

Do I understand that instead of running two power sockets from one output, I should split another one to ease the load?

Sorry to be so dim, I've never done it before, in fact I've never opened a computer up before. Terrifying, isn't it!!

Re: New Graphics Card

Its in the PCI slot, went in fine (that was the fun and easy bit!) But trawling the net seems to tell me that my graphics card has older style power connectors (molex I believe) but new power leads from my power unit has a SATA connection hence I need an adaptor. I've found a 15 pin SaTA to 2x 4 pin...

Re: New Graphics Card

Right, guesswork by me, actual facts from you good people!! I need a power supply, my graphics card has come with two leads that appear the same; a yellow and black wired thing with 6 female connector at one end and a 3 pin male at the other. It has two of these and two sockets for this on the card....

If it's a case of replacing one with another I should be ok.
Any ideas on the performance difference?

New Graphics Card

Morning, I've managed to get my hands on an ATI Radeon HD 4870. I currently have the Radeon HD 2400. My new card was free, but what performance improvement will it give me? On my "windows experience" score, most numbers were 6 and 7s, my graphics score being the lowest at 5.something. I've...
