IIRC, Early146 was not authorised for London City ;
and later ones ( 200/ 300) had to have steep approach modifications ( certainly G-OJET couldn't, hence it was replaced with G-MIMA)

The Avro RJ had steep approach option from build

It could be RAE Bedford but I don’t remember their Phantoms wearing plain grey. The Phantoms are from No. 56 Squadron, Ben and I'd hazard a guess that the Hunters are T7s belonging to Delta Jets. Pete XV410 .. the last Phantom I was working on before Gulf War intervened... IIRC this was a promotion...

Looks likely the P63 had the B17 in its blindspot , was commencing it's display and was focused elswhere; we had a similar near miss at Great Warbirds in 1988, a Spitfire ran in to start it's show, while the RAF PR9 Canberra was still doing its routine luckily John Cuthbertson the display director s...
