Re: Amusing description of e-bay item
Chinglish at it's best! As a former technical writer I cringe when I read stuff like that!

Re: Tobii Eye Tracker 20% off
I see that TrackHat released a new product on the first of January that may be a challenger to the Tobii system : https://www.trackhat.org/sensorv2 It will be interesting to see how it performs once the product gets into the hands of reviewers. I bought two of the older TrackHat systems (1 for me, 1...

Re: Tobii Eye Tracker 20% off
It's still a bit pricey and I am not sure it would work in my situation anyway as I have a large picture window almost directly behind me. Over the years I've had three TrackIR systems (1xTIR4, 2xTIR5) and they all died the same way in that they went 'blind' in one eye i.e. the sensor would work fin...

Re: Tobii Eye Tracker 20% off
I was looking at those too but unfortunately they don't have a supplier in Canuckistan and shipping charges from Europe were extortionate.

Re: How Cold Is It.
We are currently sitting at -15°C (5°F) with a wind chill (feels like temperature) of -29°C (-20°F) and we are not likely to see temperatures above freezing until December 28th. Our night-time temperatures have been getting down to -20°C (-4°F) without the windchill factor and we have had gale force...

Re: Merry Christmas everyone
I send everyone Yuletide Greetings at this time of celebration for the Winter Solstice and the passing of the shortest day of the year. It will soon be time to light the Yule Log and for the wassailing to begin!

Re: Video: Santa's New Sleigh
That guy has a bunch of different rocket/jet powered vehicles on YouTube. He's quite the inventor and crazy daredevil who has obviously never attended a single elf 'n' safety class in his life! With the sled in the video I was concerned that the residual heat from the pipes was going to melt the lak...

Re: FSX Acceleration hassle
Thanks Larry  I always feel more confident doing things when I know why, so would you please say why scenery should not be in the Add on folder. I have never put FSX in the default C: path based on advice. I read many years ago that loading scenery was one of the biggest things to slow do...

Re: FSX Acceleration hassle
Thanks for your elucidating and entertaining description, Larry ;) No problem Mike, I try my best! I need to move FSX to a bigger drive anyway, so I will probably take your advice and go SE. You say that moving the aircraft will take time; couldn't I simply cut & paste Sim Objects/Airplan...

Re: FSX Acceleration hassle
I know it's a bit late but one of the best things I ever did was to switch to the Steam version. I have had no issues in more than 1,450 hours of use. Keep an eye out for the Steam sales as it regularly goes on sale for 5-8 bux US. You can always buy it at that price but not install it and then put...
