Re: G-ASHG 50 Yrs Ago Today

I didn't notice that! Mike Lithgow wasn't Chief Test Pilot either, Jock Bryce was. Jock was due to fly that test but was called to a high powered meeting by Sir George Edwards at Weybridge to try and work out how they had lost the Trans-Canada Airlines 1-11 order to the DC9. BAC thought is was a cer...

ZA150 (5H-MOG) Arrives At Her Final Resting Place

Her final arrival at Dunsfold today. Yes very good news.

I know what it feels like after they diagnosed me with a melenoma - they caught that by chance at a very early stage.

Peter, Looks like you need a subscription to read (on firefox at least).

On a similar note at Brooklands today a Boscombe Down 1-11 pilot was saying that one of the systems they tested on the 1-11 could locate the a/c position down to 1 cm laterally & vertically :-O

1-11 First Flight 50th Anniversary Today

I'm surprised nobody has posted this today. At 19:42 today in 1963 G-ASHG took to the air for the first time for a 27 min flight. I went to the 50th anniversary bash at Brooklands today and found it a bit of a mixed bag. We had a presentation by 1)a BAC flight test engineer, 2) a British Eagle engin...

Re: The Plane That Saved Britain

Anybody else spot the short clip of a Boston? They used it twice by reversing the film.

SWMBO also got tired of them labouring the point the presented was in a wheelchair. That said you can't deny he enjoyed his flight in her (the Mossie not the wife  ).
