Re: It's Time for a Change.
To be honest with California being so much further south than the UK I've never really seen the point as the variation in day length is much less. Shortest day in London is ~8 hours vs ~10 hours for LA, longest for London is ~16.5 vs ~14.5 for LA. As it is right now, its dark when my alarm goes off...

Re: It's Time for a Change.
Here in California we change our clocks next weekend. Personally I always though it silly, the week after the time change everyone is a bit off kilter and traffic accidents go up as a result. I would rather they just pick one time DST or standard time and stick with it all year.

Re: World of Warships - RN
Chris, regarding USS Texas - interesting that she was powered by reciprocating steam engines while the R.N. had gone over to turbines for their battleships four years earlier. Sorry to answer for Chris. I did find it interesting that the USN used reciprocating engines for the USS Texas and USS New ...

Re: Heathrow
I saw a map that showed where the new runway would be on the bbc website, it looked like any aircraft using it would have to taxi a long way to be able to use it. i can't see how that would be useful. I would think it better to add a second runway at Gatwick. http://ichef-1.bbci.co.uk/news/624/cpspr...

Re: 240 Million Pounds For London City Airport
That does seem like a lot to just add nine gates, and build some taxiways. For about than that they build a whole new airport in St Helena (granted they did messed it up and now the airport can't be used, but still)

Re: If you need good laugh at British airport
Good to see the RJ-100 could land successfully. Too bad the aircraft is out of production since 2001, they won't have too long before they have to find something else.

Re: If you need good laugh at British airport
Found one one new site that they are looking for a solution but... In the meantime, we are working hard to identify an interim flight solution that can land on our second runway (02, from the south). There is no wind shear on this second runway, but there is a tailwind. We have identified aircraft t...
