Re: How to change a wheel

Very brave act, but the fact that it was filmed from so many directions does reek of a stunt instead of a real emergency. ;)

Re: Sad News If True

The Rescue and Relocation project is trying to pull the funds together to move G-ASGM/ZD241 to another location. A few notes: the Lightnings and the Walton-owned aircraft will stay at a new site next to the Q-shed. No more taxi runs though. The promise not to scrap anything sounds nice, but doesn’t ...

Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO VC-10 AIRCRAFT!!

Keep an eye on the stock at the Aviation Bookshop: https://www.aviation-bookshop.com/ Simon usually has loads of secondhand books as well and he used to send out a list of secondhand stuff available a few times a year.

Edit: I see that he has one copy left of the VC10 Haynes manual, on sale at £10!

Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO VC-10 AIRCRAFT!!

The problem is that most of the titles are out of print, including Lance Cole’s earlier title and both of Scott Henderson’s books. That makes the Haynes manual the best option right now, unless you’re willing to wait a few months. Or you’ll have to pay a lot of money for a secondhand one...

Re: Flying to Australia in a tiger moth, for real

A real shame. There appears to be some movement in the India-Pakistan standoff, but this is limited to commercial air transport only: https://ops.group/blog/pakistan-india/
Apart from the range issue, a Tiger will not reach FL250. At least, not on its own.

Re: Dutch F-16 shoots itself down

According to a post on another forum from an F-16 driver, it is not unknown for one or two rounds to be 'slow burners' which slows them down, causing them to be hit by the next round in line. It's the resulting fragments from that hit that caused the damage in this case, at least that seems likely. ...

Re: Just Flights' VC10 Professional.

The plan was to include a few stories about the VC10 in the manual, to give a bit of insight into the history of the aircraft. So you may run into some bits from my site when you read the VC10 Professional manual. ;)

Re: Just Flights' VC10 Professional.

I noticed that there is a small error in the type/livery combinations: VC10 C1K Royal Air Force, 101 Sqn, Modern Grey Royal Air Force, 101 Sqn, White/Grey Royal Air Force, 101 Sqn, 40 Years of VC10 Royal Air Force, 101 Sqn, 90th Anniversary Royal Air Force, 101 Sqn, 95th Anniversary Royal Air Force,...

That's indeed a Do-228. They use Twin Otters as well.
