Hi Nigel.
The FSX figures sound about right at 14200RPM. There will also be a lower power output when the fuel trim is less than 100%. Remember the airspeed indicator is showing indicated airspeed not true airspeed, the difference between the two increasing with increased altitude.

Re: HS748 Engine Failures
Tony, The only programmed conditions which can cause an engine to fail are excessive TGT for a prolonged period, power unit icing and fuel filter icing. The temperatures at which icing can happen are randomly programmed so it won't always be the same. The checklist calls for the correct settings for...

Re: HS748 start problems
Sounds to me as though you may have either the FS9 cab or aircraft cfg installed rather than the FSX one. They each require different starter coding and won't work properly in the wrong simulator. The FS9 pack has three panel variations; 2A, 2B and 2C, while the FSX pack has only 2A and 2B. Check th...

Re: HS748 Hotel Mode?
BEA had a separate "Scottish Routes" Viscount checklist for internal starting and the order was revised to 2, 1, 4, 3; each engine being wound up to 11000 rpm from the normal 7500rpm idle and the generator checked on line before starting the next.

Hadn't seen this before, some nice footage of engine handling and feathering and relight in a proper F.27 cockpit

Victor
Been trying something different recently, and must confess, I'm really enjoying flying it :-O I've built this round Alpha's Victor model, with vastly improved flight dynamics. It may look terribly complicated, and in some respects it is, but much is automated for convenience. There are two arrangeme...

Re: 748 Queries
The rasping is caused by the sudden air resistance as the propellers move into the constant speeding range, 10500-11500 RPM, dependant on mark, and into the flight fine range and there is a momentary pause or even reduction of rpm despite the power increase. Generally the bigger the propeller diamet...

Re: Vickers Viscount one gen out, where is the gen master sw
The generator master switches are on the starboard side console on the 802/806/808. Beneath each generator ammeter is an overvoltage reset switch, red failure lamp forming part of the central warning system and an ON/OFF master switch for each generator.
Hope this helps
