Re: Across Africa in the DC3

I too am the proud owner of the MAAM DC-3. If you're going to have a civil aviation flight sim the DC-3 is is just about essential, and they don't come any better than the MAAM one. And the money goes to keep the real one in good nick, so its a win-win situation.

By the way Ralph, are you a flight simmer at all ? Now that you've completed your magnum opus, you probably have some time on your hands.

Re: Very new old boy

Magnificent! A thoroughly interesting read, well written, informative and entertaining. Ralph, I take my hat off to you; thank you for expanding my knowledge of Britain's aviation history, and what it was like to be part of it. This entire series has been one of the best things I've ever read on the...

Re: Free IRIS T-6A Alpha Test/taster aircraft

Ah, thanks very much Andy. A further question if I may; would this self-shadowing capability allow shadows to be cast inside the cockpit by the canopy frames, and have them move around when turning ?

Re: A Comet Special...

I'm going to do a RTW trip soon, but I just can't decide on the aircraft to use. I did consider using different aircraft for different stages, but I don't think I'd get the same sense of accomplishment at the end. So, its going to be the MAAM DC-3, PD's Lancastrian, or just about anything from the C...

Re: A Comet Special...

Peter, this is something I've meant to do to illustrate the complexities of MSFS for those who are only familiar with combat sims such as IL2 and CFS3. It really is excellent, and I'm going to link it at my online squadron forum. Thanks very much indeed! :)

Re: AlphaSim F-104 released

Been looking at that Dave, and am impressed to say the least. The night time instrument panel screenshots are wonderful; its one of those things that can close the deal when one's wondering whether to buy it. Haven't got the Starfighter yet, so the money is still burning a hole in my pocket. Quote: ...
