Heart says Merlin. Spitfire and Merlin just seem to go together so well...

Even though the Griffon was the better engine, anything used to push tanks through mud just shouldn't really cut it in such a beautiful aeroplane.

Well out of all the aeroplanes ever built, if it came right down to it, I'd have first and foremost a Dornier Do-X. I'd live in it! After that either a Dakota or a PBY-4 Catalina. Every one of those has been with me since early childhood and always stir my soul. If it had to be classic Bristish mind...
