Re: Heathrow 1957 - Colour Photos
Pics of the G-ANH* Viscount 701C are rare as well as along with some of th G-AMO* series were sold to VASP in 1962 before mass photography came about. Just out of interest, Garry, the various 700s in the collection are: BEA - G-ALWF, G-ANHF, GAMNZ, GAOFX, G-ARBW BOAC - G-AMOG BKS & CAMBRIAN - G...

Re: Heathrow 1957 - Colour Photos
wonderful photos - really capture the atmosphere... What scanner do you use to scan the slides ( assuming that is what they are) , and what do you use to clean them first please? Hi Chris, I'm glad you're enjoying the slides - rest assured there's plenty more to come. I'm using an old Epson Perfect...

I didn't realise you were ex-Dan Air, Leif. In that case, here's a rather nice shot of 'DK and 'DO, taken in September 1968, that may stir some memories.DispatchDragon wrote:... came after my departure from DAN.

Heathrow 1957 - Colour Photos
I did the original scan of G-ALYF, taken Heathrow in 1957, for John (RAF_Quantum) for his DC3 repaints but as it came out so well I thought others might enjoy seeing it. I've added a few more taken on the same day to give an idea of what Heathrow (or London Airport as I think it was still officially...

Well done James. I nearly put this photo in with the helicopter set but I didn't think it quite qualified. ;-)

Re: Can You Identify This? No. 3
Well done - again - Leif. I should know better than to post them whilst you're still awake! :) You're right, it is the Napier Lincoln - I tried to make it more difficult by cloning out the serial - what a waste of time that was! :-( . Can You Identify This? No. 3
I've obviously got no chance of beating you with obscure types so I'll try a different approach. With all these appendages, what's this Lincoln being used for?

Re: HELP WANTED IN SOUTHAMPTON AREA!!!!!!
Garry, I don't know if these are of interest but I came across them in one of the slide boxes. The aircraft (F-BLHH, ex-G-ANWH) was photographed at Oslo in March 1969. It looks as though they've kept the basic Silver City scheme, painted out the British titles and replaced them with the French ones ...
