Re: Gear selection in FSX

Hmm...I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to achieve but I use a toggle switch on my Saitek X52 HOTAS to control the gear. I use the Saitek profiling software and as the 'stock' gear key in FSX is <G> (which is a toggle control in itself) in my FSX profile I simply assign 'G' to both the up and...

Nice FS Videos

While posting a reply on another thread I went to the site below to link to a gliding video the chap made. I had not been back to this site for a while and he has added several more I had not seen before and they are well worth a look. He is an excellent FS video maker and the 'Magnificent Men' one ...

Re: Gliding in FSX & FS9

I used to do a lot of gliding in both FS9 and FSX but must admit I have not done any for a while! I even have a saved flight I was working on where I started at Leicester (I was after somewhere close to the middle of the UK for a start point) and got into some amazing thermals that took me up to 16,...

Re: TrackIR 4Pro?

The Track IR is a very good product. There is 1 main caveat though that no one seems to mention. It MUST be used in subdued lighting. So if you fly during daylight hours with your system set up in the conservatory forget it. And if flying in said subdued light then the other thing that becomes incr...

Re: FSX uninstall

This page has some interesting info....

....and it looks like SATA 6 Gbit/s drives may soon be available. Bear in mind that cable length is also a factor that affects some formats. It takes time to push all those electrons down the cable. ;-)

Re: TrackIR 4Pro?

The setting up is always the hard part Hobby but once done you should rarely have to revisit the set up screens again. Just for reference the biggest problems Hobby had were from a light source directly behind him and from light reflections from the glass of picture frames on the wall. TIR DOES NOT ...

Re: FSX Westland Wyvern: In the next 24hours

I did notice something that could be a minor bug though and I'm not sure if you know about it or not so thought I'd better mention it. In the VC the prop pitch lever doesn't seem to be animated for me (FSX + Accel). The label displays changes in pitch when I move my pitch control on my HOTAS and th...

Re: FSX uninstall

You may hit problems using an external drive if it is a USB one due to data transfer rates, a firewire one may be OK but I am not sure on that. I would be tempted to do some research on FSX and external drives if I were you.

Re: FSX Westland Wyvern: In the next 24hours

Well done Skippy and crew she's a keeper! :welldone: CHEERS Only had time to drop into a flight in mid air to check her out so far. I did notice something that could be a minor bug though and I'm not sure if you know about it or not so thought I'd better mention it. In the VC the prop pitch lever do...
